As leader of Abel Townships messengers Badr tends to come across as overly stern and in some ways harsh and uncaring. In truth he can show some signs of care, he's just hardened to the idea of people dying in this job. He doesn't try and get along with people, preferring to focus on keeping horses alive. Doesn't mean he's not afraid to put a horse down if its a danger. He also has some light farrier skills - enough to know how to trim a hoof to prevent it growing too long.
