For a note - all ridden horses are mares (female). There are three other horses currently, one being a yearling foal Badr is working with, the other two both being stallions.
Fajera - Ridden by Badr al-Miraj
Fajera is a firey tempted mare, who is more likely to wish to eat you or kick you then look at you. Loyal only to Badr she does not take people touching her lightly. Her name means wicked one, and without you have her permission to come near you can expect at least a bloody bite. Her hind end isn't any safer either.
She is exceptionally fast however, with strong endurance, leading to Badr's fond nickname for her of Ya-bint-al-hawa, daughter of the wind.

Armaleh - No assigned rider
A rather contrary chestnut mare she has her own mannerisms within the stable. She is known to enjoy having her neck scratched, and her belly groomed - but be warned about her hind legs, she's prone to kicking. She's also prone to bucking if not warmed up to working, as well as random leaps for no reasons. She does however love apples, when you can get them, and would do almost everything for them.
Gifted with a good endurance, even if not the speediest her dislike of anything near her tail is the reason she survived the initial outbreak. She was found by Badr as part of a small herd of three and brought back to Abel. One had to be put down after a bite was found, and removed fully from the encampment.

Aneesah - No assigned rider
A proud but gentle bay mare, she gets rather skittish around abandoned buildings and leaving the gates of Abel. She was found at the same time as Armaleh. She doesn't like leaving groups, and at pasture tries to get every horse to play with her.
She will focus on doing her job though, and possesses and average amount of speed, and endurance, more importantly she gives 110% to anything you ask her to do, as well as being easy to groom.

Damazat - No assigned rider
This one was a sole survivor of a fire in stables at a now destroyed settlement. The others who had been stabled next to her who'd survived had become infected, and this was the only one left who wasn't in danger of becoming a zombie horse.
She's a very forgiving mare despite this, very gentle with her rider and always seems to be of comfort to any who is around her. Easy to slip the bridle on, there's very little she wouldn't do to help you. Just be prepared to hold onto something if you have to jump a fallen tree or a ditch - she's well known to buck after them in pure exhilaration. Truthfully however there is not a mean bone in her body, just a tendency to start too fast and tire herself out over longer distances

Hakimah - No assigned rider
Hakimah is noted for her brave nature, coupled with good ground manners. She is one of few who came with Badr to Abel, and is often seen out at pasture with Fajera on account that she's happy to spend her time by herself. She's very independent, however is prone to sweating easily - especially when excited.
There's very little can spook her, however if someones excitable and prone to flailing their arms around her she's off like a shot to get as far away from them as possible.

Hayjanneh - No assigned rider
Having been kept inside much of her life, and barely handled outside of her stable everything for this mare is a cause for excitement, and can cause her to be on her toes ready to break into a gallop at the lightest brush of a riders leg against her side. She also has the tendency to fart when at her most excitable, thankfully her speed makes her more then suitable to outrun zombies attracted by the noise.
She also spooks at horse poop left on the ground, and is rather inquisitively affectionate. To her someone picking her hooves out is a novel thing to be explored with her nose, that tends to nuzzle and nudge and even tickle the handler. For one who didn't have much experience being outside of a stable she is good on lead, even if in a herd she's constantly trying to work out how to take the lead of such.

Balash - No assigned rider
Given her way Balash would move at only one gear and that's gallop. She jogs and tosses her head at anything slower, constantly pulling to move faster, and fidgets when expected to stand still. She also sneezes frequently, even when there's no dust to cause such to happen, and adores water - watch out if a route takes you out near a pond she'll be in it for a swim regardless of what you want.
She's prone to spooking at birds flying close, which can include bucking so does require a rider who can sit to her bucks, even without a saddle. She also hates stallions and geldings, preferring the company of other mares. Hard to catch she also adores sugar cubes, but is banned from too many of them - she's already energetic enough without a free source of energy. Finally she hates being stabled and will kick at the door and walls until let out. Originally found roaming wild between Abel and New Canton she still hasn't lost all of her wild tendencies as is being worked on by Badr.

Nasihah - No assigned rider
Found in an abandoned stable with a reincarnated zombie cat has left its scars on Nasihah, who hates cats and is often kept outside at pasture for just that reason. To keep the mice down the stables uses cats as mousers. She's very bombproof and hard to spook other then the cat thing, however she is also very vocal - not good when you're trying to not attract zombies.
She's a mare who likes to let you all know she's there. If she does unseat her rider she will at least return to Abel and its safety. She's also not a horse to play with the others, or partake in herd politics, quite happy to just eat her grass in peace. She's not easy to handle on the ground, possibly down to the lack of handling - its hard to judge though, and this is something that Badr will work with a rider on improving. Expect to be kicked, bitten and your face swatted with her tail, without you can bribe her with sugar cubes - though that comes with the risks of her forgetting to stand still in excitement.

Jassirah - No assigned rider
An instantly noticeable grey mare, Jassirah is a very action orientated mount, exceptionally adaptable and spontaneous, often deciding her actions without consulting with her rider all the time. She does have a tendency to end up foaming at the mouth when ridden, something that initially caused her to be checked for bites by Badr in case she was infected. She also loves to steal items from pockets, especially apple slices.
She will however spook at anything flapping in the wind, seeing it as a threat. She will also kick at any animal coming too close to her tail. Around anyone she takes to she's more then happy to come up to them should they even be leaning against the fence watching her, being a very people orientated horse, sometimes it even seems she loves them more than her own kind. She was originally rather wider then she is now, having being spoiled by a younger rider who overfed her in terms of treats. When the zombie plague struck her human was infected. It was a windy day on that time and their scent had been driven to a zombie hoarde. At the time the girl had been releasing her to give her a chance of escaping.

Labibah - No assigned rider
Highly intelligent Labibah has been behind more then a few field escapes, stable escapes and disappearing food. She thankfully never gets ill, even if boredom when she is secured in her stall causes her to kick at it none-stop without you pay her attention. She's terrified of sneezes and colds, but is more than willing to spend time being petted and stroked by anyone - more so then with horses.
While she is a people orientated horse, having originally come from a busy riding yard, she's not afraid to use her intelligence to teach her rider something new, such as be gentle with me, or trusting her, even to the point of letting them meet the ground until they get the picture.

Murmur - No assigned rider
Murmur is very prone to suddenly taking off, namely if something scary catches her eye - however other then her fear of blankets that can also cause her to shy away and try and escape - and her dislike of men it's a challenge to find what triggers her, its almost as if she changes every day. She's also a nutcase in colder weather - especially just after snow when keeping her in a straight line and slower then gallop is a challenge for any rider.
Badr has noted that she often tries to get involved with the herd but she'll also get bullied and pushed away. Without a human has her favourite treat - corn - she also isn't very keen on human handlers. With a few scars on her face and another series on her hind quarters and just behind the girth Badr is firmly suspicious she was abused prior to the apocalypse. He certainly remembered having to kill a zombie who held a vicious whip in his hand. Slowly he's been working to regain her trust, but its likely she'll need a rider dedicated just to her to fully fix it - and as of late they've been in short supply, with every messenger assigned to her having been thrown.

Misha - No assigned rider
Misha is a mare who loves new ideas, and can start to tug and pull when faced with either a challenge or a new obstacle. Though some people might describe her as appearing depressed, they have long since noted that more often then not other than her tendency to follow people along the pasture fence as they go past, she will stand and stare into the distance. She will spook at something that has suddenly appeared, as well as mother over foals or younger herd members. She's a very easy horse to prepare for leaving Abel, even if sometimes she tends to prance about in excitement.
Loving apples, and at times trying to do the opposite of what her rider wants she's become known as a sound horse who will do everything to keep their rider safe, including some creative thinking to overcome an obstacle.
Found roaming wild with only a dog for company Misha is very much a peoples horse, and gets anxious if left alone for too long, especially if all the people have disappeared. It's thought that she escaped from a stable after her original owners were caught by the plague. Either way Badr found her roaming the wilds and brought her back.

Charlotte - No assigned rider
While Charlotte can be calm around newer riders, especially if she's being led so that they can learn to ride without a saddle, on someone more experienced she's prone to try and do the opposite of what they want. She's also prone to spooking at runners who may also be exercising if they pass on her blind side. More then happy to snatch grass whenever she wants, she also has no perception of what personal space is. Under a more experienced rider there's also a chance that she will buck like a bronco if someone else isn't holding the reins as you first get on her - especially if you come down heavy on her back. In a herd she's prone to biting horses who come into her personal space, preferring the company of one person over all others and all horses.
She loves day old bread as a treat - so what doesn't go to the pigs is certainly quite welcome to go to her. Because of her colour, and the way it was formed she was born blind in one eye, which means she isn't often taken outside of Abel Township. However if she is taken into the outside world she's a sensible mare, focusing on working, but relying on her rider to be aware enough of what's on her blind side to keep them both out of danger. She's a frequent sight around Abel Township, either with Badr exercising her himself, or if he's using her to teach a new rider or test a new rider before assigning them a horse.

Splotches - No assigned rider
Splotches is a natural born performer, loving to get the entire world focusing on her and only on her. She has the habit of vocalising to other horses, as well as one of rolling with or without a rider on her back. Prone to skittering or leaping in the air she will do just about anything for attention, settling however should you give her what she desires. Guns can cause her to spook, which has caused a few problems returning to Abel township if there's zombies in the area, or even within the walls themselves. She very much has a lead horse mentality, and keeps any other horses turned out with her in line, this does have the unfortunate side effect however of making her hard to lead or generally work with on the ground, with her being more then willing to go sideways, jerk away, tread on toes or try and barge past her rider. She absolutely adores anything salty so if you stand too close after a hard ride expect her to start licking at your hand, or any other skin she can find.
Found running wild with just a bridle and saddle and no sign of the rider Badr brought her back to Abel before riding out again to try and find what could have become of the rider. He was forced to resign himself to it being another unknown as darkness started to fall.
